The Immerse Collective is a group of creatives who lead worship, write songs, and create products that draw people closer to God.
We believe that the Holy Spirit works through worship to transform lives to more resemble Jesus Christ. We find inspiration in multiple faith traditions and spiritual practices -- liturgical, contemplative, charismatic, and popular expressions. We are especially sensitive to living faithfully in an already/not yet Kingdom of God which feels simultaneously “at hand” and far away.
We are rooted in the local church with a vision to help equip the global Church. Our director and core members of the collective serve and lead worship at Good Shepherd Church in Sacramento, CA, while other members participate remotely on a project basis.
Our first release is an hourlong (audio) worship journey entitled IMMERSE: A Journey of Restoration and Connection to God, which features female vocals, piano, and chamber orchestra. We are also releasing a 30-minute audio/visual edition version of the project.
The first single, "Rain" releases May 10, 2024. with the entire album available in August, 2024.
IMMERSE is rooted in centuries of Christian worship music. Some of the songs are new and some come from the modern worship repertoire of the past decade, however they are all presented with acoustic instruments, while the video is candlelit.
The Creative Team
The collective’s director, Chris Long, coordinates congregational worship for Good Shepherd Church in Sacramento, CA. Chris has worked with pop, jazz, Latin, classical, blues, and gospel artists. His credits include Grammy, Dove, and Grand Prix du Disc award winning products. Vocalist and songwriter, Jessica Bhugaloo lives in Vancouver, WA, and has served as worship leader in several churches. Pianist, orchestrator, songwriter, conductor, and professor, Mark Gasbarro’s work is seemingly everywhere. Mark has produced hundreds of worship and popular music recordings, while contributing piano to so many great film soundtracks they are hard to number. A Los Angeles, CA, resident, he has contributed to Academy Award winning film scores, arranged and played for the Oscars, and backed a dizzying array of artists. Additionally, he teaches composition at Azusa Pacific University.
Audio recordist, videographer, and songwriter, Josh Grenko helms Velvet Tone Studios in Sacramento, CA. Josh is not only expert at recording electronic instruments and effects-laden pop productions but is also energized to record orchestras and all sorts of acoustic ensembles.
Songwriter, acoustic guitarist, and vocalist, Jeff Brzozowski is Sacramento, CA-based. He combines a great love of popular music with early experience in liturgical worship forms. Jeff is equally adept at composing and leading a Kyrie as he is appearing with his Contemporary Country group, Cynthia Renee Band.
Author, songwriter, pianist, singer, pastor, Manuel Luz, serves as Creative Arts Pastor for Oak Hills Church, in Folsom, CA. His most recent book, Honest Worship, is published by Inner Varsity Press.
